How buying works
Subscriptions are always bought inside the app, in the parents' (or staff) area behind your PIN, by an adult. There are three ways:
- Android app from our website (get it here): pay monthly by card. The app opens a secure checkout run by RevenueCat, our billing provider, and payment is processed by Stripe. We never see your card details. Works without a Google Play account, so it suits schools, centres and families with Fire or other tablets.
- App Store (iPad and iPhone): billed by Apple to your Apple account. A version that runs in the iPad's web browser, paid the same way as the website's Android app, is coming soon.
- Google Play (Android): billed by Google to your Google account.
- Prices are shown here in US dollars. Local tax, such as GST, may apply where you live. At our checkout you're charged in US dollars, and the total, including any tax, is shown before you confirm (your bank may add a foreign currency fee). The stores charge the equivalent in your local currency, including tax, and show the exact amount before you confirm.
- The free trial: new subscribers get the first 14 days free. Cancel before the trial ends and you won't be charged (in a store, at least 24 hours before it ends). At our checkout, a trial is offered once per account; Apple and Google decide who is eligible in their stores (usually once per store account).
- Renewal: after the trial, the subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel: charged to your card, with a receipt by email, or to your store account.
- If the subscription ends (cancelled, or a payment fails and isn't fixed), Mellowmoor keeps working to the end of the time paid for and for 7 more days, then stops working on the account's devices until it's renewed. Your account and progress are kept. More about this.
- Price changes: we (or the store) tell you in advance, and a change never applies to time you've already paid for.
- Before you subscribe, six games, Story Corner (all 50 stories), Play Studio, Music Corner and Calm Cove are open to try. We may change which games are in that free selection.
How to cancel
You cancel where you subscribed. You keep everything until the end of the period you've paid for. Deleting the app, or your Mellowmoor account, does not cancel the subscription.
Android app from our website (paid by card)
- Open any Mellowmoor receipt email and tap the manage subscription link.
- Tap Cancel and confirm. You can also change your card there.
No receipt email? See Manage billing, where you can ask us to send your billing link.
iPhone or iPad (App Store)
- Open the Settings app and tap your name.
- Tap Subscriptions, then Mellowmoor.
- Tap Cancel Subscription (or Cancel Free Trial) and confirm.
Android (Google Play)
- Open the Google Play app and tap your profile picture.
- Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Choose Mellowmoor, tap Cancel subscription and follow the steps.
In Mellowmoor, Parents > Safety & account > Manage subscription takes you straight to the right page.
Refunds
Paid by card on our website's Android app: we handle refunds ourselves. Email hello@mellowmoor.com if you were charged when you didn't expect to be or something isn't working. We don't refund part of a month because you change your mind, but you keep access until the month ends. See our terms.
Paid through a store: because Apple and Google take the payment, refunds are requested from them under their policies: on Apple devices through reportaproblem.apple.com, and on Android through Google Play's order history or Google Play's refund help. We can't issue refunds for store purchases ourselves, but if something isn't working, please tell us and we'll help. Nothing here limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Changing or restoring a plan
Organisations can move to a different plan size in the staff area under Safety & account; a plan can't be smaller than the number of learners you already have. On a new device, sign in with the same account; for a store subscription, you can also use Restore purchases in the same place.
Invoicing for larger organisations
Organisations with more than 150 learners, or that need to pay by invoice, can arrange the Larger plan directly with us. Email us with roughly how many learners you have and we'll reply with a quote.
Full terms are in our terms of use.
